Nephrology Consultant with MA license (Part-Time/On-Call)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nephrologist for a part-time, month-on/month-off consultant position. This is a great opportunity to provide expert advice to hospitals without the pressure of urgent or emergent cases.
The nephrology provider will engage in basic nephrology floor consultations, primarily providing curbside advice to hospitalists. These consultations are non-urgent and are aimed at acute cases that can be managed with expert guidance.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert consultation for nephrology cases via phone or virtual communication.
Connect with hospitalists to provide advice on nephrology-related cases.
Handle approximately 2 consults per month (18 consults per year).
Respond to consult requests on the same day.
Work within a supportive and collaborative environment, offering advice and guidance on complex nephrology cases.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST.
This role operates on a month-on/month-off basis, ensuring a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications:

Board-certified or Board Eligible Nephrologist.
Ability to provide curbside consultations and offer practical advice for acute nephrology cases.
Must have strong communication skills to liaise effectively with hospitalists.

Additional Information:

Credentialing process takes approximately 60-90 days.
The role involves 18 consults per year, averaging 2 per month.
This is a remote position with no travel required to the facility.
